Zilos

Zilos developed a passion for music at a very young age. Born Christopher Philip, he was raised in a Greek family and was always fascinated with the rhythms and melodies of his culture. After years of lessons on various instruments, Chris found his calling in the drums and percussion section. Because of his steady groove and talent, he auditioned and was accepted into some of New York State's elite music ensembles, including the Empire State Youth Orchestra and Percussion Ensembles. He performed in many different world-renowned venues including Carnegie Hall. Although he was classically trained, Chris was drawn to all types of music and trained privately on many different genres.

In his mid teens, Chris was asked to DJ a party in his hometown. After that first party I knew I wanted to get into the world of DJ'ing and electronic music. It was mesmerizing and thrilling all at once!

To pursue his career in music, Chris attended the State College of New York at Oneonta. His Major in music industry brought him closer to his most recent love of DJ'ing and turned him on to production and engineering with state of the art studios and equipment. His studies with certified ProTools engineer Orlando Legname and professors such as Jeremy Wall from the Grammy Award winning band Spyro Gyra, led Chris to a whole new level of recording, producing and musical theory. These skills were directly reflected in his new productions as he started remixing many of the current hit songs. The program also brought him close to world renowned Producer Chris Panaghi, head of A&R at Amathus Music. Chris has been collaborating with Chris "The Greek" on remixes and original songwriting for many major artists and labels around the globe.

Zilos is currently in the studio working on various projects and is always experimenting with new sounds and techniques to remain on the cutting edge of the industry. In addition to his work in the studio, Chris still plays Greek Bouzouki in a local band that frequently plays events. Keeping in touch with his Greek roots helps him flourish in the studio to create memorable and unique melodies and sounds.
